VCMx Is Looking for a CTO to Help Build the Future of Canadian Healthcare

At VCMx, we’re building Lilium Care — an AI-enabled coordination platform designed to reduce wait times, improve diagnostic pathways, and enhance interoperability across Canada’s healthcare system. As we move toward MVP development and pilot launches in Saskatchewan and Ontario, we are expanding our leadership team with a key role: Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

This is an opportunity to help architect a platform that supports millions of Canadians — with AI-driven triage, secure interoperability, and blockchain-backed auditability that does not store PHI, yet enables the trust and transparency healthcare systems desperately need.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a mission-driven CTO who can lead technical strategy, architecture, and development for our MVP. The ideal candidate brings both vision and hands-on capability — someone who thrives in early-stage environments and can build systems that scale nationally.

Ideal Experience Includes:

  • Leading engineering teams or technical strategy at a startup or health-tech company
  • Architecting secure, compliant SaaS platforms
  • Experience with AI/ML (triage, NLP, predictive analytics, workflow optimization)
  • Familiarity with interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, API-based health exchanges
  • Strong grounding in PHIPA, PIPEDA, and HIPAA-aligned security practices
  • Bonus: Experience with permissioned blockchain for credentialing, audit logs, or metadata management

Location Preference

While we welcome applications from qualified Canadian citizens across the country, we have a strong preference for candidates located in Saskatchewan — ideally near Regina or Saskatoon.
VCMx is based in Saskatchewan, and having our CTO within the province will support:

  • Closer collaboration with our local founder and team
  • Proximity to early pilot partners
  • Engagement with Saskatchewan’s growing tech and health innovation ecosystem

Candidates from across Canada will still be considered, especially those with health-tech, AI, or infrastructure experience.

Compensation & Funding Status

This role comes at a pivotal moment for VCMx. We are currently preparing our first investment raise and building a team that will move us into MVP development and pilot execution.

Because of this:

  • Compensation will be negotiated based on experience and availability
  • Structure may include salary, equity, or a blended model
  • Final compensation decisions will align with the timeline of our fundraising efforts

We believe in transparency — and we want our CTO to be a collaborator in shaping the company’s long-term success.
